Results (click picture to enlarge)

- Peak power raised 34 hp.
- Peak torque raised 15-50 ft pounds.
- Runs smoother at idle and part throttle
- Fully dealer compatible - works with all Honda scan tools and
equipment.
- Eliminates the E-Manage
Boost curve (click picture to enlarge)
This turbo is fully spooled by 3500 rpm. It holds about 8 pounds of boost until 6000 rpm. Boost drops to 6.5 pounds at 8000 rpm.
Tuning notes
This program was tuned for 7 pounds of boost. A catback exhaust was fitted to a stock catalytic converter. Higher boost levels were not tuned for, tested or recommended as the 440 injectors are running at maximum capacity at this power level. For more boost, an upgrade to 550 injectors and the K-Pro is recommended.
Who can use this upgrade?
Any Greddy turbocharged K20A2 (RSX type S). This program is for someone who is happy with the stock levels of boost and is not intending to change.
Any Greddy customer who had an ECU previously upgraded which included a reprogrammed E-Manage is eligible for a free upgrade to this program. (freight excluded)
Tech
This Hondata ECU upgrade eliminates the use of the E-Manage. The E-Manage MUST be removed before this reflash is installed (Contact your dealer about the E-Manage removal, Hondata will not be able to help). This reflash corrects some of the characteristics of the stock ECU causing the car to run lean at part throttle conditions. At 8100 rpm the 440 injectors are at 90-95 %, meaning that you cannot increase the rev limit or boost without causing the car to lean out at high revs.
The 440 map is specifically for 16 ohm 440 injectors which should be the standard injector supplied with the Greddy kit prior to about March of this year. There will be a transition to a 440 12 ohm injector sometime soon at which time a 12 ohm map will be available. Check your injector resistance with a multimeter across the two terminals if you are unsure.
The K-Pro comes with the map for 440 16 ohm injectors as well as additional starter maps for 550 and 650 injectors.
For consistency in dyno testing we suggest you follow the dyno procedure outlined here.
How do I get it?
- Download the upgrade form.
- Contact your Hondata dealer and arrange payment for the upgrade and shipping.
- Send the ECU, Key and immobilizer to Hondata
What if I have modifications?
This program was tuned for a stock exhaust system and catalytic converter. With a test pipe and 3" exhaust for example, you will run a little leaner. If you have such a test pipe and exhaust we recommend that you have the air/fuel ratio checked by a dealer at high RPMs. For higher boost levels we recommend 550 injectors and the K-Pro.
Feedback
Life with greddy turbo kit and Hondata:
Accelerating: With the Hondata up-grade it seemed to hit boost faster and had alot better throttle response. You mash the gas and it takes off that instant. There is more power available throughout the whole rpm range but the real difference is up high in the rev range. When the e-manage was struggling at 6000rpm the hondata up-grade was just getting started. It is like a new breath at 6000rpm, it just takes off. From the time you mash the gas untill the time you let off it is dropping more power and putting you back in the seat. The little flat spots in power that were there before are gone now, nothing but increasing power all the way through the rpm range.
Passing: The throttle response is awesome. You give it gas and it takes off,
barely any lag. The increase in horsepower and torque probably have something to
do with its ease of power delivery. It feels so good to not have to downshift to
pass.
Idle: It idled like it did the day we bought it. It sounded so smooth even
though there is a turbo straped onto the back of it.
Conclusion: This is a definant upgrade for anyone with the greddy turbo kit.
It helps the car feel and run smoother and gives a very nice upgrade in power.

Anonomous review
After you install greddy's turbo kit for the rsx type-s you feel a huge
increase in power. It actually feels like a whole new car, but to some people
that might be a bad thing. The power is great but the base program that is put
onto the e-manage needs a little fine tunning for the car to feel
"good".
Accelerating: When running the car through the rpm range from a stop you
feel a few things that are different than how it was when stock. First you mash
the gas but the car doesnt really start pulling, the turbo starts spooling and
finally throws out a whole lot of power at 3300rpm. At this point you are in the
strong point of the power-band(in my opinion). It puts you back in your seat at
3300rpm then keeps dishing out power untill 6000rpm and then it kind of keeps
the same amount of power until red-line. Also throughout the rev there feels to
be some flat spots in power which might bother some people because the rsx revs
so smoothly when stock.
Passing: To pass someone on the freeway is so easy with the turbo kit. No
need to downshift just step on it. The greddy kit will take a few seconds to
spool and enough power is on tap to cruise by the car.
Idle: The idle issue on my car seemed to be a concern to everyone that
crossed my car. I knew it was not perfect but it just didnt sound like stock.
Also, when you reved the car and try to keep the rev at a certain rpm it could
never hold the rev, it would bounce up and down. These are all just little
things that i noticed and some people might not even care.
