Proper S300 output to AEM CD7

Post by dirtybird222 »

I have the AEM CD7 setup to receive CAN inputs over Port 2 on the CD7 with a 500kbps baud rate.
In SManager do I select the Motec SDL/ADL or the Hondata 500kbps output?
I've tried following the AEM write-up and I still can't get data to populate on the AEM. There is output voltage coming out of the S300 for CAN H and CAN L.

Motec is the only CAN output that is available. Have you tried swapping the CAN H and L?

Thanks Spunkster. My SManager shows a "Hondata Protocol 500kbps"

I switched it over to the Motec and will be trying to swap the H and L CAN lines.

I need to diagnose why I'm not getting a SYNC light right now. Worked before I took the head off, now nothing. Ran through all of the troubleshooting here and still got nothing. http://www.hondata.com/help/cpr/index.h ... ooting.htm

Really odd, when I had the CAN output set to the Hondata Protocol 500kbps option, I was getting no Sync light in the CPR. Switched it to the MOTEC SDL, uploaded the config to the S300, boom new engine starts right up. No data populating on my AEM; but, the big problem is solved.

Swapping CAN wires later this evening and I'll post an update.

This shit is comical. Switch CAN H/L wires and no SYNC light again.

Sounds like a ground plane voltage difference and/or current loop. Use a multimeter and measure voltage between ground on the battery negative and every other ground point - ECU, S300, CPR, thermostat housing, AEM etc. Voltage should be < 0.1V Ideally with the engine running, but that may not be possible in your case.
