Running Lean After 3.5 Inch CAI Install
Re: Running Lean After 3.5 Inch CAI Install
Looks good again. I made a couple small changes to the fueling, and a few ignition changes for knock. I'd like to make sure it's knock free for you before setting you loose until your exhaust comes in. So take this one for a spin when you can.

Re: Running Lean After 3.5 Inch CAI Install
It looks great. We had one knock, but I think it was a bit of a fluke as it only did it once and not on your other pulls you made. Go ahead and make another datalog with this calibration when you have time and we'll see how it looks. If it shows a knock again, we'll make adjustments for it. Other than that, it looks killer. Also looks like it pulls pretty good or just the intake. Best part though, no codes or anything like before.

Re: Running Lean After 3.5 Inch CAI Install
Yeah it looks like it knocked in the same area. Sorry, I like to creep up on stuff instead of just pulling a bunch of timing so we can find the safe limit while keeping the performance there. And two knock aren't an issue at all, it just seems to keep happening in the same area so I like to stop that trend. Take this one for a spin when you can, no rush.
Re: Running Lean After 3.5 Inch CAI Install
I will record a datalogs for the new file tomorrow. One thing to note, I did enable full throttle shift for the last data log, did that possibly cause the knock?
Re: Running Lean After 3.5 Inch CAI Install
Sounds good. No that won't cause the knock we have. It's just after the vtec engagement right where 9th gens are prone to knock. I'll turn no lift shift on for you in the next revision so you don't have to keep going in and turning that on.
Re: Running Lean After 3.5 Inch CAI Install
Cool, Attached is the most recent datalog. I tried to really hammer on it as it seems as tho we are getting close to polishing out the issues.
Also I noticed that the vtec lights come on at 5k rpm, however the file says vtec 45000. Do the vtec lights indicate when vtec is actually engaging or is that just misleading.

Re: Running Lean After 3.5 Inch CAI Install
It all looks great again. Still one knock in that same area, so I made some more changes for that. We'll see how it looks in this next one.
Yeah vtec is coming on at about 4660 in the datalogs, which it looks like I had it at 4550 in the calibration. I moved it down to 4400 to get it to come on more on target. As far as the light in the car, it's probably not as accurate as the datalog shows. I would imagine it's more of a fun thing they gave you guys as opposed to being a truly accurate depiction of vtec engagement. But it it is kicking on at 4660 in the datalogs, but it should be more on target in this next one. We should be just about there with this one.

Re: Running Lean After 3.5 Inch CAI Install
Still had one in the same area. I made some changes, if it still does it, I will try a different strategy. See how this one goes and we will see. If you want to go out and make a couple pulls only that's fine, you don't need to drive it for 20+ minutes unless you want to. Everything looks great, the knock is only happening on your pulls, but not every one of them.
Re: Running Lean After 3.5 Inch CAI Install
Attached is a datalog for that calibration. I did my best to do a "pull rich route" unfortunately there aren't any convenient spots to do a pull, turn around and pull again. Let me know if the quality and quantity of pulls is satisfactory.

Re: Running Lean After 3.5 Inch CAI Install
No problem, that one was great. I just didn't want you to have to keep going out and making 20+ minute drives is all. So we stopped the knock in the main area of concern, and only had only one right before vtec so I reduced the timing there. We should be there now in this next one. Take it for a spin when you can, no rush.

Re: Running Lean After 3.5 Inch CAI Install
I think we're there. No knock, and all the fueling looks great. If you want to make some random datalogs over the next week or so feel free. If nothing else, when you get the exhaust, let me know and we can work on it some more.
Have fun with it.
