K pro MIL issues

Post by brenthay »

Hi guys

I have a 1997 JDM Integra Type R with a New Zealand spec K24a3 (with k20a oil pump/windage tray/sump/50 degree vtc etc).

Now i have a V3 K Pro in a PND ecu running with a DC5r engine loom to a K tuned adapter harness.

The problem i'm having is with the car running im getting 4 codes:

ELD circuit high voltage (P1298)
Multiplexer not present (P0600)
Primary heated oxygen sensor (P0135)
EVAP purge valve circuit (P0443)

Now before you all tell me to turn the options off in the parameters section, I have. I even made sure the map was uploading to the ecu by making a change to the map, then uploading it, disconnecting then re connecting the ecu and downloading the map. The change was there.

The strange thing is even though the ECU is PND, under the K pro information tab it says ECU type: PRA.

Has anyone encountered a similar issue? Its as if the ECU isnt actually using the map that I upload.

Thanks in advance

Please provide the calibration & datalog as per the posting guidelines.
I suspect you're using a PRA calibration when you should not be.
As for testing if an upload is successful, a better test is to set the rev limit to 4500 rpm and see if that works.

Thanks for your reply. After work I'll datalog the issue and attach the calibration.

I have tried both PND and PRA calibrations and both bring the same issues.

I have attached the datalog and also the calibration.

What's interesting is that I set the rev limit at 2500, started the car, and could rev it higher than 2500. Then went and downloaded the map from the ecu and sure enough the rev limit on the downloaded map was indeed 2500.

Does this mean the ecu is not talking to the hondata board?

Or maybe the hondata board itself is working but the ecu is not reading off the Hondata board, but instead off the oem PND map, hence the codes?

Downloading from the ECU is just going to retrieve the stored calibration in the KPro, so it is not a good way to test for a change.

From Online, Tool, select 'Clear ECU'. Do this twice, switching off the ECU for at least a minute each time afterwards.

Then open your calibration and use Online, Upload.

Check you have a 2500 rpm limiter. If not, then the problem is the KPro socketing or the KPro itself.

What is the complete ECU part number on the side of the ECU?

I bought it from a guy locally who got it installed by turbogixxer.

I have sent it to my tuner for him to have a look at it so I'll see if he can find the issue

That is not a supported ECU. It is more like a PRA ECU, but may not have all the circuitry needed. This is why we do not install K-Pros into these ECUs.

Thats strange that turbogixxer is installing these into PND ecu's?

I have a PRC ecu so I'll get it swapped over.

Is it only some PND ecu's that aren't compatible?

What about PRC? are they all compatible?

You have a JDM PND and it is not compatible. Only US PNDs are compatible. Ones ending in A01-A09

Cool. My 37820-PRC-023 ecu should do the trick!
