Can you calibrate a TPS without the Motor in?

Post by blacksi76 »

I am waiting on my new motor, and I have a new BDL 72mm throttle body, and I read up on how to calibrate the TPS so thats not a problem, but can I do this without the motor installed yet? How will my S300 ECU react to this? I know I will throw codes due to the fact that there's no motor, but I only have to plug the TPS into its connector on the harness, turn on the ignition and use the multimeter to set the TPS in the correct positions to get the proper readings 0.5v closed throttle and 4.5v at wide open throttle....So will I do any damage to my ECU if I do this?
