FK8 announcment
Re: FK8 announcment
Can I purchase a new USDM ECU from the dealer, jail break it for FlashPro, and keep my original factory ECU intact?
Re: FK8 announcment
You would need to get the immobilizer matched to the new ECU, so the vehicle would not run off both ECUs at the same time. Otherwise it would work.
My question as always is why? There's no real advantage from just jailbreaking and reflashing the original ECU.

I don't think I made my question clear. I'd like to buy an additional ECU and stash the original ECU away for a rainy day. My car is a FK8 limited edition. Obviously the resale value is much better if everything is kept stock. I plan to mod the car for fun, but keep everything reversible and store the OEM equipment, just in case I need to sell the car some day.Hondata wrote: ↑Thu Sep 09, 2021 8:48 am You would need to get the immobilizer matched to the new ECU, so the vehicle would not run off both ECUs at the same time. In that case get the vehicle running off the new ECU first, then proceed as normal doing the jailbreak etc.
