2018 ECU now thinks it is a 2017, how to fix?

Post by mexmax »

Hi all,

Just got my FlashPro in the mail last night and upon hooking it up and locking it I noticed that it thought my 2018 Civic Sport MT was a 2017 of the same type with a different ECU number. My 2018 ECU sticker says 37820-5AN-A15 and the ECU (or calibration ID) the Flashpro screen displays is 5AN-A160.

I cannot upload any calibrations for a 2018 (which sucks) and now my ECU thinks that it is a 2017 model. So far, no driveability issues thankfully, but I am unable to get the Flashpro to acknowledge the correct vehicle model and use the correct calibrations. I am also worried that this will cause some sort of damage or issue down the road if it is not righted.

I tried selecting the unlock option to forget ECU info but when I tried reading again it still sees a 2017.

Has anyone had a similar problem? Any way to force a 2018 base map and model to a FlashPro against it's will?

Have already used feedback help option in software and emailed support email. Hopefully they will get back to me as well.

I also am having this issue where the FlashPro thinks I have a 2017 and will not upload 2018 calibrations. I am running software version 3.6.5. The FlashPro is locked and read the VIN correctly, the only thing I can see is that it might have added an extra "0" to the end of the ECU part number. It reads 37820-5AN-A040 instead of XXXXX-XXX-A04.

From Help, About, what is the version of software you are using?

With everything plugged in and the ignition in the on position, go to the Help menu and click on “send feedback”. Include a detailed description of the issue.

With everything plugged in and the ignition in the on position, click on New
calibration and it will automatically show the calibrations that are
compatible with your vehicle. You must use those calibrations or it will
not allow you to upload.
