Running E27, How do adjust tuning?

Post by turboroe »

So, by law, here in Brazil our regular gas is E27 (27% ethanol added) and premium gas (which is found almost nowhere and costs usually 50% more) is E25.

I was wondering what kind of adjustments should be taken into account when tuning for this fuel, parting from hondata´s basemap calibrations?
By what I understand, our gas should have more octanes, higher compressibility, and stoichiometric value lower than regular gas.

SO where does this take part in the tuning? should I aim for lower AFR?
Can I use higher boost pressures?
Does the S.TRIM compensate for this ?

Our regular gas (e27) has 87 IAD/91 RON despite the ethanol addition.

What ecu/binary do you have? It it was designed for E27 then it will work. The knock control should take care of adjusting the ignition for you.

Mine is 37820-5AA-M61

I'm pretty sure it was designed for this gas, but I was thinking if the hondata reflash doesn't mess with the E27 factory calibration.

Anyway, I am reading about fine tuning for my specific car, and from what I gathered I should do the following, on top of the basemap calibration:

1. closed loop AFM calibration
2. Wot a/f adjustment fine tuning
3. Knock elimination by retarding on frequent knock map portions

Is this it, or should I do anything else to have a perfect setup for my car with everything stock?

Much appreciate your help! :)
