Upgraded Downpipe And Catback Exhaust

Post by xiahjunsu87 »

Hi Hondata, I got my car tuned by an authorized local Hondata tuner for months now and I love the difference! But somehow I has recently upgraded my downpipe and installed catback exhaust. May i ask whether is re-tuning necessary or perhaps a MUST? My tuner told me that re tuning not necessary as my car is capable to automatically adjust the AFR. Please advise

you will be fine without a retune
The ECU can make some adjustments to the fuel if needed.

Thanks, really appreciate for your reply! However, dont mind me asking one more question, wouldn't it be more ideal if to retune after downpipe and catback?

ideally yes if you want to get every last bit of power out of it.
I personally wouldn't worry about a retune unless you are knocking
