Hi, im thinking about picking up the Hondata CPR for my car. I was wondering if anyone could tell me how many wires need to go through the firewall for the coil plugs and what gauge wire they are? Also are any of the wires shielded? Reason im asking these questions is ill be running a mil spec plug on my engine harness and im wondering if I will be able to hook the CPR up to the mil spec plug on my engine harness.
TIA
How many wires go through firewall for Hondata CPR?
Re: How many wires go through firewall for Hondata CPR?
The CPR comes with it's own wiring harness and we do not recommend modifying or trying to create your own harness. We have seen many problems when this is done.
Details on the CPR can be found at:

Thanks, Ive seen those links. I understand it comes with its own harness, just wondering how many wires need to go through the firewall. Also do you happen to know which gauge wire they use?Spunkster wrote:The CPR comes with it's own wiring harness and we do not recommend modifying or trying to create your own harness. 5 wires, 18-20 gauge, unshielded.
Re: How many wires go through firewall for Hondata CPR?
I only had 4 wires. I had variant B (newer version?) of the harness and there were 4 wires that get connected to the ECU that are passed through the firewall - sync, altc, power, ground.
The other 3 legs are: thermostat ground, distributor wires (coil primary power & tach), and then the 4 coil connectors. All of these legs stay on the engine side of the firewall.
