If you install a wideband, and connect it to one of the 2 pins, can the ECU then use the external wideband for closed loop operation, or is this just a datalogging feature?

Datalogging only. The wideband controller (inside the ECU) most be matched to the o2 sensor, so the o2 cannot be changed without changing the ECU hardware.

Rats ... Is there any chance that some autotuning functionaility might be in the works via the FlashPro Manager?

It depends on the level of autotuning. Current you can datalog the wideband and get the suggested fuel changes shown on the fuel table. Going to the next step, where the software makes the changes for you, we find that people expect the software to correct for all sorts of wierd and winderful situations without any human intervention, and they end up with messy fuel tables. So, for the moment at least, no autotune.
