Calibration for B18C6/B18C-R

Post by MartinX3M »

Hello!

I've a european Honda Integra Type-R (B18C6 motor), and i'd like to install a S300, but i've some doubts:

-The calibration itr-stock.skl (2001 ITR stock everything) which i can select in Smanager is for a B18C5 motor or for a B18C-R motor?. If this calibration is for a B18C5 motor, where can i get a calibration for my B18C6 motor, or for a B18C-R motor which is almost identical to B18C6.

-Which ecu is best for running s300 in my car: p28 or p72??

Thanks!!!!

B18 C5 & C6 are both ITR engine codes!

C6 is EDM

C5 is USDM & JDM (I think!)

No exactly:

- B18C5 is the USDM ITR engine
- B18C6 is the EUDM ITR engine.
- B18C-R is the JDM ITR engine.

B18C5 and B18C6 are different, B18C6 has more compression than B18C5 (11.1 vs 10.2), pistons are differentes, and few things more. But B18C6 and B18C-R are almost identical. And i'd like to know if there is a calibration for B18C6/B18C-R because i think is different than B18C5 calibration.

Thanks!!

Ok, i see what you mean,

I have seen jdm itr engines imported over here with b18c5 engine stamp :?

b18c jdm itr engine stamp would follow the the b16a jdm engine stamp (missing the revision code, a1, 2 etc as per usdm blocks)

I guess the difference in maps would follow the difference between usdm/edm p30 v's jdm p30 and the differences in fuel. The provided maps are base maps, you will have to map it to your engine anyway.

Both ecu's you list could be used along with p30 as well, p72 has iab control which is redundant with the itr, and are generally more expensive to obtain.

An authentic JDM ITR engine never will have B18C5 engine stamp. Only USDM ITR engines have B18C5 stamp.

And i know that provided maps are base maps, and i'll have to map it to my engine, but i'd like to have the stock map (B18C6 or B18C-R) as a base map for beginning to tune the car, because i'd like to have the stock ignition for tune more easy.

P.D. Sorry, my english is quite bad :(
