Tuned sea level, now @ 5000. runs sluggish, what next?

Very rusty from 7-8 year hiatus. So I consider myself a newb. Have clear understanding of tuning. Just not much experience with s300. Helping a friend. His car was tuned at seal level on s300. Ran great, now at 5000 feet above sea level. Runs awful and wont boost when warmed up.

Runs ok when cold. But, when warm the car will not boost and it feels like it hits a wall. No audible detonation. Some details since Im a newb would be greatly appreciated.

Setup on my friends car is D16y8 built motor, 8.5:1 compression. (I know, don't ask) 6 psi turbo, and 440 dsm injectors.

the height above sea-level might be the problem.

normal P28/30 don't have that circuit inside, which measures the barometric pressure to compensate.

P72, afaik, have that. change the ECU and everything shall be fine.

Changing the ecu is not an option. My question is what do you recommend I change first to get the car to run right at this elevation. Will be street tuning. Thank You

i haven't mentioned a new tune, because then it'll run great at 5000ft, but not at sealevel anymore.

you will have to compensate that somehow.

best regards Lukas

What is the code on the side of the ECU?

It's a P28. I thought these ecu have a barometric input. Guess I was wrong... Can I highlight the entire low and high cam fuel map and subtract say 10% and go from there?
