set base timing with high idle

Post by SPOOLIN »

does the set base timing have any kind of limit to idle? just wondering...with a large cam we cant idle less than 1500 comfortably, it only makes about -5" vacuum. When ever i engage the set timing feature the car pretty much dies after a few seconds....so i have to rig the pedal just barely to keep it running to set the timing. Does this affect the end result on setting at 16*

any tricks to make it not die when engaging the set timing feature?

When the set timing function is used it goes to a flat timing of whatever you set it to no matter the RPM.
