S300 uploads fine, can't view any sensors - all frozen

Post by limited360 »

Setup:

B16A
57trim
450CC
P72J w/S300J
MoTeC PLM (D12 (+) D22 (-))

I can upload and connect to the S300j no problem. I got the car up and running, wideband is reading lambda 1.0 just fine. CEL is on constantly however. I can free rev the car fine, no issues.

My problem is that the data logging is not working, not the internal or the live view.

I am running the latest Smanager software, I even tried the most recent beta release.

I have tried a few different basemaps from the forums with no avail...

Is this a sign of bad socketing? Should I take the board out and push it back in to ensure proper pin seating?

Any input is greatly appreciated. Supposedly this was done by MASE ENGINEERING and is brand new, bough it through a gent on Honda-tech. He is still in contact with me and going to verify how MASE tested the unit after install.

I am stumped... any thoughts?

I attached the cal I was running.. just one to get the car up and going to sort this data logging out!!

EPIC FAIL...

Just got back into town, checked plugs... It has R5671A-9

Going to pick up a set of resistor plugs ASAP...

Make sure J12 is cut in the ECU.

Ordered a set of the BKR7E's and also a set of BKR8EIX's also to try out. Both resistor plugs as requested by Hondata.

I have a P72J with a s300J... Is it J4 I am supposed to cut?

Wouldn't this be part of the install when the ECU was shipped out (done by MASE engineering)?

Also I can not find any documentation on which is J4 and its location, is there somewhere on this website this information is provided.

As always thanks for any and all help!

Sorry for confusion... I know it says to Cut J12 under this section in the S300 ECU section...

'Take the ECU circuit board out the ECU case.
De-solder IC4, install and solder in the 20 pin 74373 latch.
De-solder J1, install and solder the supplied jumper.
De-solder R54, install and solder the supplied resistor. Note: Not all ECUs require this step.
De-solder IC3.
De-solder CN2.
Insert the male pins (1 x 4 pin, 2 x 14 pin) into the s300, install into the ECU and solder the pins.
Cut J12
Replace the large capacitor in C14 with the supplied capacitor'

in the s300j ECU section it says

'Take the ECU circuit board out the ECU case.
De-solder IC4, install and solder on the 20 pin 373 latch.
Install and solder a jumper across J1 on the back of the ECU.
De-solder IC3.
De-solder CN2.
Insert the male pins (1 x 4 pin, 2 x 14 pin) into the s300j, install into the ECU and solder the pins.
Remove J4
Replace the large capacitor in C27 with the supplied capacitor'

Sorry for the confusion.. I guess I will look into cutting J12.

Very uncomfortable about this...

Sorry I did not realize you had a JDM ECU. It is J4 on a JDM ECU that must be removed. Missed that after a long weekend.

I assumed it was due to the long weekend :)

Any documentation where J4 is or just hunt for it? :)

Is there someone I could talk to on the phone? If the component with the {000} on it is what I am supposed to remove, I am totally not comfortable with that, looks like a surface mount resistor.

'7. Remove J4 (surface mount 0 ohm resistor) and transfer to J1 (located on the back of the circuit board).'

So do I need to solder this to J1? WTF...

If you are not comfortable with doing this then you should take it back to whoever did the work originally and have them do it. If you damage the ECU there may be nothing you can do.
