Nees help making an OBDII port for my KPro V4
Re: OBD2 port wiring
Bumping this thread to resolve an issue I've had where my Android stereo would see the KPro but refused to connect. Trying this I can get my stereo to connect to a generic Bluetooth OBDII device, yet Hondata app says the ignition isn't on whether the car is running or not. Only wire I didn't connect was 9 since it says below it's not needed and I had to leave for work before I could try 9 as well. Suggestions in the meantime?
Re: OBD2 Wiring
Bump for update. I'm on the same pins, apps will connect to Bluetooth dongle but can't get any apps to read data and they say "ignition not on" when going though the dongle. It's fine when I connect via Bluetooth directly to the KPro using my phone but I'm trying to use a tablet. I need to be able to connect via the OBDII port/dongle since my tablet won't connect directly to the KPro.
Re: OBD2 port wiring
I've connected OBDII pin 9 to the KPro 23, still no changes and Hondata app still says "ignition not on" when connecting through the Bluetooth dongle but phone will connect and get reading directly through the KPro.
Nees help making an OBDII port for my KPro V4
Car is is a 1991 Toyota MR2T that didn't come with a factory OBDII due to it's age. I've been running a tablet that nearly useless to see unless I'm stopped so I've bought an Android based car stereo which a larger and more legible display.
Problem is the Android stereo refuses to connect to the KPro. I've written the seller and it's something to do with their Bluetooth app forcing me to use their dongle. After putting up a stink for buying a $350 stereo and then have them lock it down like it's an iPhone, they're sending me their dongle. In the meantime I'm still trying to wire an OBDII port into my car after I found a thread here but it's not working out for some reason.
Using my phone...I can connect Hondata, RealDash and Torque directly to the KPro and they all read information. But if I try to connect those apps via the Bluetooth dongle, it'll connect to the dongle but that's it. Hondata says "Ignition not on", RealDash says no connection and Torque just flashes the image of a car.
Please help...I NEED to be able to get a working OBDII port in the car since the stereo manufacturer refuses to loosen their Bluetooth restrictions within the stereo itself. attachment=0]20190907_191007.jpg[/attachment] [

Sorry, swap is a K24A2
Re: Kpro v4 obd2
You ever get this sorted? I'm trying to wire an OBDII port into my KPro V4 so I can connect to OBDII via a dongle vs directly to the KPro itself.

Re: OBD2 port wiring
What is the serial number of your K-Pro board inside the ECU?
Re: OBD2 port wiring
This or do I need to physically open it?
Re: OBD2 port wiring
This does not sound like a Hondata related issue. I would contact whoever did the wiring harness for this vehicle.
Re: OBD2 port wiring
The person that did the wiring says he has no idea why I can't get the OBDII port to work and says he's never seen the "Ignition not on" message I've gotten from the Hondata app, which leads me to believe I'm missing one wire connected to the dongle and/or some setting in KPro Manager...which I've never used before.
Re: Kpro v4 obd2
Sorry, I missed your reply. I've posted the serial number in another post you'd replied on but I'm at work now so I can't take a picture of the white plug...I'll try to remember tonight.
Re: Nees help making an OBDII port for my KPro V4
Bump...I figured this forum of any would be able to help, please.
Re: Nees help making an OBDII port for my KPro V4
The Hondata mobile app does not use the diagnostic port for datalogging. The Mobile app uses the Bluetooth on the K-Pro for it's connection. If the Bluetooth app says that the ignition is not on then it sounds like something is not wired correctly to power up the ECU properly.
Re: Nees help making an OBDII port for my KPro V4
Sorry, I missed this reply. It'll give me that Ignition Not On warning with the engine running, so does power need to be applied somewhere within the KPro to change that?
