Secondary Maps?!

Post by Luke »

Hi Folks,

I'm just looking for a possibility to switch between 2 maps while driving, like in the S300 possible.

Is there such a possibility in the K-Manager. Can't find it, for hell.

I have a certain plan for tuning a vehicle, where I could use something like that... in fact 4 maps where better ^^ but 2 should be alright.

Does anybody know something about that.

best regards from Germany

It is not possible for K-Pro to have real-time editing so Secondary Tables would not be possible either.

isn't there a possibility to add such an option? or is that technicly impossible for the ECU?

It's impossible for the ECU.

Nothing is impossible. If you really really really want to have a switchable map with the Kpro then think of this:

1. Kpro has 6 fuel and timing maps 0,10,20,30,40,50
2. Usually the 50deg map is not used
3. Kpro switchs from one map to the other based on a table defined by RPM and manifold pressure

So,

1. define a new column in the cam angle selection table, make it 5psi and fill all the values in that column with 50deg
2. wire a potentiometer and switch into the signal wire of the map sensor so that you can alter the signal to fool the computer into thinking manifold pressure is 5psi
3. In the 50 deg map tables set your secondary map.

If your not running VTC this can be used to run 5 switchable maps!
