Re-reflash Needed After Blown Head Gasket/Engine Replacement

Post by Akuku2 »

Does my ECU need to be reflashed in the case mentioned in the subject? A mechanic did some shoddy work [shouldn't have gone to him] and my head gasket blew, was worked on [same guy], then the whole engine blew. As far as the replacement engine goes do I need to have the ECU reflashed? I haven't even touched 4.5k rpm since cause I'm worried..

I'm sorry, but I don't understand the question. Has it been previously reflashed? Has it been replaced with the same engine?

My bad. Yes it has been previously reflashed, and it now has a new engine.

You have left out some key details: what engine did it have, what engine was put in?

You don't need to do anything then.
