Safe to get reflash with cel on?

My cel is throwing a o2 sensor code that controls air/fuel ratio? Not exactly sure about replacing it because I'm worried about it going bad instantly. Im running i/rh/e and have a eliminator/defouler on the catalytic converter o2 sensor. Would the reflash be ok or safe with the current set up? Would it make things better or worse with the o2 problem?

A reflash will not correct a probelm that is generating a CEL. Follow the Helms manual and troubleshoot the error code you have.

but if i got the reflash before taking care of the o2 sensor problem would it be ok?

you can get the reflash, but you must resolve the error code.

even with all the talk about the running lean or rich etc etc the ecu wont make anything worse?
