To my amazement, I have a dilemma.
It seems the 2000 HX is a strange oddball indeed. It runs a P2N ECU, and has a realy weird connector pinout. To be more specific, it has a different pinout than the 2000 EX. Assuming they would be the same, I just ordered a standard OBD2 to OBD1 backdate harness. Whoops.
The P2N uses the (looking at the ECU female plugs) the far left, and the far right 2 connector slots. The backdate however uses the 3 left harness plugs. So what I've got now is either a custom pinout from hell coming up, or the need for another type of Backdate harness. The customer wants his OEM wiring untouched in case he ever needs to revert back to the OEM ECU, so hacking the harness wasn't an option given to me in the first place, or I would have done that. I need to either modify the Backdate harness, or get the correct one, which ever the case. Any clue on this one folks? Does an HX backdate exist or an I fabbing this one up for free? I've got a customer about to saw my head off here, so any help would be lovely.

Converting that to a 2 wire was the last thing I'm worried about. What am I doing as a Hondata distributor if I can't convert a 3 wire idle air to a 2 wire. The pinout is cake. Making the harness isn't hard either.
Getting a CORRECT wiring diagram in a Helms is the issue. It's just flat wrong. No way around it, wrong.
I've never seen another single cam ECU use the outer right plug on an OBD2. And that whole connector doesn't even exist in the 96-2000 Helms for Civics. At least not for the HX with the D16Y5.
I've got no choise but to trace every wire in the car and make my own harness between the 2 chunks I have to work with.
Unless someone at Hondata makes a Harnes for a D16Y5 for a civic HX?

The civic HX is unique because is came onlt with the coupes. The HX A/T had CVT transmission. The HX 5 speed had 5 wire O2 sensors. This vehicle is a VTEC-E engine which is also used in the 92-95 civic VX HB. The sensor is a wideband O2 just like the FJO. I'm going to look at the printouts in the HONDA Electrical Trouble Shooting Manual and get you the pin configuration ASAP.
