Windows Certified USB Drivers

Post by Hondata »

We have had our USB drivers certified by Microsoft for the s300v3, KPro4, FlashPro and TractionControl (s300v2 & earlier and KPro3 & earlier use different USB drivers which were already certified).

You may see Windows Update find an optional update for 'Hondata, Inc - Other Hardware - KPro' (or similar) of 8.2 MB. You may choose to install this update if you wish, but the certified USB drivers (v1.0.3) are exactly the same as the previous USB drivers (v1.0.2) except that they have been certified and digitally signed by Microsoft. Either the new or old drivers will work exactly the same.

The main reason for the certification was that Windows tries hard not to allow the installation of un-certified drivers, and many of our customers would have to go through a manual USB driver installation process to get the drivers installed. With certified drivers, Windows will actually cooperate and let you do what you want it to.
