- This car was set up with RC 550 cc injectors and ran about 84% duty
cycle. The engine was built by Jeff of Importbuilders.
To tune, the VTEC point was set to 7000 rpm and the low speed cam
tuned to about 250 hp. The VTEC point was them set to 3000 rpm and the
hiigh speed cam tuned. Torque crossover point was 5600 rpm which is
where the VTEC point was set.
- The engine ran an Edelbrock intake manifold with T3/T4 turbo and
utililsed a Hondata Heatshield intake
gasket which kept intake temperatures around 90F for all of the runs.
The car was tuned in about 16 dyno pulls using the GSR base map
supplied with ROM Editor and the MoTeC Lambda
meter
- Air/fuel ratio was kept in the low 12s and ignition advance
conservative for engine life. We feel that we could have made close to
400 hp if this was to be used for drag racing instead of its use as a
daily driver.
- It comfortably out accelerates most motorcycles in third and fourth
gear.
